As the family faces this challenging time, Misaki is determined to support her husband and cherish every moment with their daughter.
I (Misa) am a family of three with my husband Hajime and our daughter Hina. Hina is currently 1 year old. As an only child myself, I enthusiastically participate in events related to Hina. It is no exaggeration to say that seeing Hina’s smile is the most rewarding thing in my life. Hina’s grandparents also adore her, and I believe that Hina will grow up surrounded by love.
Hina herself also loves her grandparents. She has grown up lively and full of energy, receiving affection from those around her.
However, one day… after Hina had fallen asleep, my husband approached me with a serious expression saying, “We need to talk.”
To my surprise, it was revealed that my mother-in-law’s illness had been discovered too late. According to the doctor, my mother-in-law has only six months left to live. My husband was extremely distraught.
I can’t believe that my mother-in-law, who seemed so healthy, will leave this world in less than six months. Listening to my husband, tears started flowing from my eyes as well. However, I think my husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law are even sadder and more anxious than I am.
Initially, I had a negative impression of the relationship between my in-laws and mother-in-law, so I never expected to build such a good relationship. I attribute this to the caring and loving relationship my in-laws have with my daughter and me.
Upon hearing about my mother-in-law’s six-month prognosis, I was shocked. I thought the only thing I could do was support my husband. However, I suddenly felt the urge to buy a new school bag for Hina.
