He returned to his hotel at 2 am, trying to sleep with a hot eye mask, but was haunted by looping images in his mind. Confused whether he was dreaming or awake, he almost called an ambulance. Despite considering canceling the shoot, he reenacted his panic attack to his manager, who advised him to stop. Hikakin finally managed to sleep after taking a hot bath, waking up feeling sane and able to complete the shoot the next day after a restless 50-minute sleep.
On May 1st, “Hikakin” (with 14 million subscribers) released a video titled “It’s the Limit”.
As a result of the grueling shoot, Hikakin ended up in a panic state. He returned to the hotel at 2am and tried to sleep with a hot eye mask. However, when he closed his eyes to sleep, for some reason, the moment he tried to put on the eye mask started playing in an “infinite loop” in his mind.
Surprised by the unprecedented situation, possibly due to drinking a lot of coffee and energy drinks, he suddenly felt sleepy.
Confused whether it was a dream or reality, he experienced a so-called panic of “Are you alive?”. It got to the point where he considered calling an ambulance. The thought of canceling the shoot crossed his mind, but when he thought about becoming an “old man” by canceling, he fell into panic again and started shaking his body violently to reproduce the panic at that time.
So, Hikakin called the manager who was staying at the same hotel. Although he doesn’t remember anything himself, according to the manager, Hikakin was crying expressionlessly. The manager advised him to stop shooting, but Hikakin only muttered “It’s over, it’s over” without listening.
He also tried calling his wife, but only said “When I close my eyes, when I close my eyes…” and reportedly called 30 times.
As the sky brightened, Hikakin took a hot bath as a “final secret”, which seemed to work, and finally fell asleep. He only slept for about 50 minutes, but when he woke up, he was back to his “senses”. From there, he managed to finish the 4th day of shooting from 8am to around 3am the next day, while drinking coffee and energy drinks.
