「テレビ離れすごい」… 大晦日、各局「見るものなし」の地獄状態

TBS announced that they will broadcast a “WBC2023 New Year’s Eve Live Special” on December 31st from 6 pm, with MC Masahiro Nakai as the official support captain for Team Japan. The program will include never-before-seen footage of strategy meetings with players like Shohei Ohtani, as well as interviews with the players. This decision to focus on the WBC victory reflects TBS’s attempt to boost ratings after a decline in viewership for their usual battle program. However, the announcement has received negative feedback on social media, with many feeling overwhelmed by the saturation of WBC-related content on TV.

・TBSは賭けに出たようだ。12月31日の大晦日、午後6時から「WBC2023　大晦日・生放送スペシャル」（仮）を放送することを発表。侍ジャパン公認サポートキャプテンを務めた中居正広をMCに迎えるというが、世間からの反応は芳しくない。

番組では、WBC中継では見られなかった、大谷翔平ら含めた作戦会議の様子などの初出し映像が放送されるという。さらに、侍ジャパンの選手たちをスタジオに呼び、今だからこそ語れる当時の思いや、試合の裏側を語っていくという。午後6時から11時45分まで生放送、さらに午後5時から6時には事前番組を放送予定という気合の入りようだ。

TBSは例年、『THE鬼タイジ』というバトル番組を放送していたが、2022年の世帯視聴率は第1部が5.4％、第2部が2.3％とパッとしない。そのため、WBC優勝という今年の大きな話題で勝負をかけたようだ。
